Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you shop with us or visit oliverskitchen.co.uk, how we use it, who we share it with and the rights you have over it. We keep it as short and plain as the law allows.

1. Who we are

Oliver's Kitchen and oliverskitchen.co.uk are trading names of Oliver's Kitchen Products Limited, registered in England and Wales with company number 11061310. Our registered address is Asher House, 3 Lincoln Road, Glinton, Peterborough, PE6 7LW, United Kingdom.

We are the controller of your personal information, which means we decide how it's used and we're responsible for looking after it. If you have any questions about this policy, email hello@oliverskitchen.co.uk.

2. What we collect

Contact and identity details - your name, email address, phone number, and delivery and billing addresses.
Order details - what you bought, when, what you paid and your delivery choices. Card payments are handled by our payment providers, and we never see or store your full card details.
Account details - if you create an account, your login details and order history.
Communications - emails and messages you send us, reviews you leave, and whether you open or click our marketing emails.
Technical and usage data - your IP address, browser and device type, and how you use our website, collected through cookies and similar technologies.
Marketing preferences - whether you've agreed to hear from us and how.

3. How we use it, and why we're allowed to

To take, deliver and support your order, including returns, refunds and warranty claims. Lawful basis: performing our contract with you.
To keep records for tax and accounting. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
To run, secure and improve our website, and to prevent fraud. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in running a safe, working shop.
To understand how people use our site and measure our advertising. Lawful basis: your consent, where cookies require it, otherwise our legitimate interests.
To send you marketing emails, texts or push notifications. Lawful basis: your consent, or for email to existing customers, our legitimate interests in telling you about similar products. You can opt out at any time.
To ask you to review a purchase. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests.

4. Marketing

We'll only send you marketing if you've signed up or bought from us and haven't opted out. Every marketing email and text has an unsubscribe link, or you can email hello@oliverskitchen.co.uk and we'll take you off the list. We never sell your personal information, and we won't share it with other companies for their own marketing.

5. Who we share it with

We share your information only with trusted providers who help us run the business, and only as much as they need. They may only use it on our instructions. They include:

Shopify - our ecommerce platform, which hosts our website and processes orders and payments.
Payment providers - to take and refund payments securely.
Delivery companies - such as Royal Mail, DPD, Parcelforce and DHL, to deliver your order.
Email, text and notification services - Klaviyo for email and text messages, and Brevo PushOwl for browser push notifications.
Reviews - Stamped, to collect and display product reviews.
Analytics and advertising partners - Google (including Google Analytics and Google Ads), Meta (Facebook and Instagram), TikTok, Microsoft Advertising and Adscale, to measure how our site performs and show relevant adverts.
Other Shopify apps - that power features on our store, such as post-purchase offers.
Professional advisers - such as our accountants, where needed.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect our legal rights, or to prevent fraud.

6. International transfers

Some of the providers above, including Shopify, Google, Meta, Klaviyo and TikTok, store or process data outside the UK, including in the European Economic Area and the United States. When that happens, we make sure your information is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations, the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. 7. How long we keep it

Order and transaction records - 6 years from the end of the financial year they relate to, as required for tax and accounting.
Account details - until you ask us to close your account.
Marketing data - until you unsubscribe, after which we keep just enough to make sure we don't contact you again.
Customer service emails - up to 2 years after we last heard from you, unless they relate to an order.

After that, we delete your information or anonymise it so it can no longer identify you.

8. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device when you visit our website. We use:

Essential cookies - needed for the site to work, such as keeping items in your basket and taking you through checkout.
Analytics cookies - to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it.
Marketing cookies - set by us and our advertising partners to measure our adverts and show you relevant ones on other sites.

Where the law requires it, we'll ask for your consent before setting non-essential cookies, and you can change your choice at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, although some parts of the site may not work properly without essential cookies.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
ask us to correct information that's wrong or incomplete;
ask us to delete your information;
ask us to restrict or stop using your information;
object to us using your information for our legitimate interests or for direct marketing;
ask us to transfer your information to you or another organisation;
withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it.

To use any of these rights, email hello@oliverskitchen.co.uk. We may need to confirm your identity first. We'll respond within one month, and there's usually no charge.

10. Keeping your information safe

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and we only give access to people and providers who need it. Our website and checkout use encrypted connections. We'll never ask for your password by email.

11. Children

Our website and products are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

12. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first at hello@oliverskitchen.co.uk so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
